Some of you may have heard that there are some changes coming for me and the ministry I lead at CrossRoad Church. This summer, I (along with a great team) will be establishing a new ministry in partnership with the Northeast Florida District UMC. The mission of the new ministry will be to reach out to college-aged young adults on campuses and throughout Northeast Florida. We do not have a name for this ministry yet, but we have a vision...to reach the estimated 250,000+ young adults aged 18-29 throughout Northeast Florida.
The current ministry to UNF and JU that has been faciliated by ACCESS218 will transition to the new district ministry. And I will be leaving my position at CRC as Director of College/Young Adult Ministry to lead this new endeavor. All of these changes will take place over the summer, and current ACCESS218 ministry at church and on campus will continue as normal until then. Launches will still happen as planned. We'll remain a busy bunch of young adults. But we are already working on this dream of reaching more young adults and I wondered if some of you folks reading this blog would consider joining us.
During the month of April, we will be promoting what we are calling the 218 Campaign. We are looking for folks to partner with this dream of reaching that 250,000+ by contributing a one time gift of $218. These partnerships would enable us to:
* To continue ministry on the UNF and JU Campuses, as well as to young adults in Northeast Florida through ACCESS218 until July.
* To help fund the six short-term mission experiences (known to us as launches) we will be taking this summer.
* To establish a new ministry to campuses and outreach to young adults in NE FL beginning in August.
As I said before, the opportunity to reach college-aged young adults has never been greater. If you choose to partner with us, you would be joining several others who believe in the dream of reaching the 250,000+. Our current community of college students and young adults, with a desire to see their friends experience the love of God, gave over $3700 to start the 218 Campaign. In addition, we have a few partners who have agreed to match the first 56 gifts (of $218) that come into the 218 Campaign.
If you are interested in partnering with this dream, you can make checks out to Northeast District UMC and please put '218 Campaign' in the memo. You can mail checks to:
